It is with great sadness Baseball Oshawa announces the passing of long-time coach and Wall of Excellence honouree Rob Snodden.

Coach Snodden spent 27 seasons in an Oshawa dugout helping young players reach their goals and move them on to the next level. It wasn't just players Coach Snodden made an impact on as he helped develop many young coaches in the Oshawa system providing guidance along the way. Some of those coaches are continuing to coach in various organizations today, including Oshawa.

On the field Coach Snodden led teams enjoyed a lot of success, especially in the 1990s. From 1991-94 his teams won four straight EOBA championships. During that run his teams appeared in three straight OBA championships, including winning the 1994 OBA AAA Midget championship.

The run of success led to Coach Snodden being named as a coach to the Legionaires All Decade Team of the 1990s. The honours didn't stop there. In 2015 Coach Snodden was among the first class of honourees named to the Legionaires' Wall of Excellence, joining Oshawa greats Tony Quick and Dave Sheridan.

Coach Snodden represented Oshawa on at least 5 occasions coaching EOBA fall all-star teams. He was a member of the 2012 EOBA all-star team that won the prestigious Cannon Cup, just the second time the EOBA won that championship.

His coaching tenure in Oshawa ended with a 3-year stint coaching in the Oshawa Elite program from 2019-21. Coach Snodden's greatest accomplishment was his family. He is the grandfather of former Legionaire Zack McQuaid. McQuaid is one of only two players in Legionaires' history to make the Canadian National Jr. Team.

Coach Snodden leaves behind a tremendous legacy in Oshawa of always willing to help a player or coach. For that, we tip our cap and say Thanks Coach!
