Wednesday, May 25, the Baseball Oshawa 11U Legionaires learned about community spirit and how it is as much a part of baseball as the strikes and runs.
When the Uxbridge 11 Grizzlies home field was damaged in the storm, we welcomed them and opened up our practice field to them! We had a great time hosting a scrimmage game so Uxbridge could get in some practice time.
We didn’t keep score, and we didn’t allow walks, so the bats on both teams were flying! Both teams were such great sportsmen and had so much fun!
We were glad we could support the Grizzlies and hope their field and town are repaired soon. Thanks to the coaches for setting this up and to the boys who played so well together!
Thank you to Terry Johnston of CKDO for sharing our story.
