"Little League baseball is a very good thing because it keeps the parents off the streets." - Yogi Berra
Coaches
All our House League coaches are volunteers, and you don’t need any formal baseball or coaching experience to get started! All it takes is a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
We’re here to support you every step of the way. You’ll get mentorship, ready-to-go practice plans, access to a coach clinic, and guidance on the skills kids should be learning—everything you need for a fun and rewarding season!
Join us and make a difference in your community while having a great time with the kids.
How to Become A COACH
- Must be 15 years or older; Coaches under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian or an 18+ Head/Assistant Coach.
- Indicate interest during your child's registration or email the House League Director at houseleague@baseballoshawa.com. Not sure about coaching? Reach out to learn more—we provide support with mentors, digital practice plans, and a coaching handbook.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
- Want to co-coach with someone? Let us know.
- Coaches and assistants 18+ require a current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC). We’ll provide a letter to help you complete it. The VSC is valid for two years and can be reused if completed for another league or work purposes.
- Coaches automatically have their children placed on their teams. Additional player requests are subject to the House League Director’s discretion.
NEXT STEPS
- You’ll hear from the House League Director shortly after indicating interest.
- A Coaches Clinic will be offered for those who commit early.
- A Coaches Meeting, held in-person or online in early-mid May, will cover uniforms, hats, equipment handouts, and team preparation.
