The 2021 Baseball Oshawa Awards night was an exciting one for our Rep and Elite players.

Dozens of awards were handed out at the Courtyard  Marriott in Oshawa.

Here are your 2021 Rep and Elite Award Winners

Oshawa Legionaires Rep Awards

2021 Team: 8U AAA

Head Coach Dan Miched

Batting Champion – Liam Collette (.655 AVG)

Liam was one of Ontario's most dominant offensive players, having an incredible year of improvement from the 2020 season. He led the team in triples, home runs and was a force on the base paths. Liam often had a major clutch hit to drive in runners when we needed it the most. As the year went on, Liam's performance at the plate had a major ripple effect on our team's overall hitting and changing the game's momentum.

Co-MVP and Gold Glove – Luke Simmons and Jackson Miched

Luke was a major reason for our team's success in 2021. He was the best first baseman in the province and gave our infielders so much confidence knowing they had him at first base. Luke was always vocal, positive, and had a major impact at the plate as he was statistically near the top in every offensive category. Luke's ability on both sides of the ball contributed to our 2nd place finish in all of Ontario.

Jackson was a leader of our team all season. Jackson led the team in hits, batting avg and RBIs. As an underaged player, he carried himself with confidence on both offence and defence, which many of his teammates looked up to all season. Jackson was one of the most dominant defensive players in the province, often making difficult plays look easy. The amount of work put in the offseason translated into success on the diamond, which helped his team finish 2nd in all of Ontario.

2021 Team: 9U AA

Head Coach: Daryl Macklem

Gold Glove Award - Carter Jones

Carter was a key defender for the Legionaires this year, playing multiple positions, usually in key areas of the field. Carter came up with several nice catches in the outfield, including a diving catch to start a game-ending double play to preserve an Oshawa 2-run victory over Peterborough. When on the infield, Carter was a solid defensive shortstop to help stabilize the Legionaires defence coming up with several big plays at crucial times. Unfortunately, Carter's season was cut short due to a season-ending injury, and his loss was felt on the defensive side of the ball for the Legionaires. This year's top defensive player is Carter Jones.

Batting Champion - Bennett Mohammed

This year's batting champion is Bennett Mohammed, with a .680 avg. Bennett had a tremendous year and made an impact wherever he was hitting in the Legionaires lineup. He was an excellent table-setter when hitting at the top of the lineup and also became a good RBI guy and when hitting lower in the order. Through his hard work, Bennett became one of the team's hardest hitters. This year's batting champion is Bennett Mohammed.

MVP – Trey Timms

In his first year of rep baseball Trey quickly asserted himself as an impact player. Trey was an offensive catalyst and often started rallies for the Legionaires as he was among the team leaders in runs and batting average. Defensively Trey often sacrificed his body by getting in front of the ball to make an out. A team leader on the field with his effort and off the field with his positive attitude, Trey will be an impact player for years to come.

2021 Team: 10U AAA -

Head Coach: Mike Schachow

Gold Glove - Nathan Wilkins

Nathan quickly became a force behind the plate for the ballclub. The amount of work that Nathan did in the off-season was on full display, with many opposing coaches commenting on the quality of his blocking skills. Nathan was often called upon to catch for our club's hardest throwers and did not disappoint. Nathan's arm behind the dish also gave the ball club another weapon, reducing opposing clubs' ability to steal extra bases. Congratulations, Nathan, on being the 10U AAA 2021 Gold Glove recipient.

Batting Champion - Emmett Elstob

Emmett Elstob topped the 10U AAA team in a number of statistical categories this season. Emmett could always be counted on for a clutch at-bat when needed. Emmett led the team with nine extra-base hits on the season. His three doubles, five triples and one home run are the outcome of a relaxed focus at the plate and a successful adjustment to live pitching. Congratulations, Emmett, on being the 10U AAA 2021 Silver Slugger.

Top Pitcher - Matthew Simmons

Matthew was a workhorse for the 10U AAA team this season. As he is affectionately known, Matty was relied on to start several important games over the season. Matty s ability to throw strikes is what really helped him excel in his first-year pitching. Matty finished the season with nineteen strikeouts, compared to only 5 bases on balls and no-hit batters. Congratulations, Matty, on being the 10U AAA 2021 Pitcher of the Year

Most Valuable Player - JT Clayton

Whether in center field, at shortstop or at the dish, JT always brought his A-game. JT had been excited to take on a major role playing outfield with live pitching, and he did not disappoint. The greatest highlights from JT were his ability to make strong throws from deep in the outfield, picking up twelve outfield assists. At one point in the season, an opposing coach commented that "he had not seen 10U ballplayers pull off cut plays, the way JT did. Congratulations, JT, on being the 10U AAA 2021 Most Valuable Player.

2021 Team: 10U A

Head Coach: Rick Townson

Gold Glove Award - Massimo Passarelli

This is Massimo's second GG award, as he was the smoothest and most effective infielder this season. Massimo played 2nd Base and amassed a .897 fielding percentage along with the most put-outs on the team with 23. Massimo was always ready for the play as well as staying engaged and capitalizing on many secondary plays that provided pivotal outs for his team.

Batting Champion - Ryan Macina

This is Ryan's first Silver Slugger award as he was our most consistent hitter and our lead-off batter for the whole season. Ryan's ability to focus and absorb everything we coach is a testament to how he plays and approaches the game. Ryan finished the season with the highest batting avg of .548, totalling 17 hits, 17 RBI's, 28 walks, 31 runs, an OBP of .770 and only 6 strikeouts in 61 plate appearances. The highlight of Ryan's season came when he was the only player to hit a proper in the park home run at our gorgeous new facility at Durham College.

Top Pitcher - Wyatt Townson

This was the first season for live pitching, and although Wyatt had a rough start in his first couple of appearances, he persevered and finished the season very strong. Although Wyatt struggled with results early in the season, he had the best mechanics of all our pitchers and improved his accuracy greatly. Wyatt also acquired the mental toughness required at this position which further improved his performance. Wyatt's highlight of the season came during round 2 of August Madness, where after playing 5 innings at SS, he came in to close the game and that he did. Wyatt shut down their hopes of a comeback facing 8 batters, giving up 1 walk and 1 hit while striking out 5 of the 6 needed outs. He closed out the 7th inning striking out the side; all looking.

MVP - Rylan Andrews

Rylan spent the majority of the season at first base and was always ready to help his team where needed. He also had some good success learning to pitch and being a stellar outfielder when we needed him in a pinch. Rylan really turned a corner with his hitting in round 2 of August Madness, collecting 3 doubles. His full-season performance at first base was spot on, digging lots of throws out of the dirt and making some incredible stretches to ensure the out! His leadership on and off the field was top notch while also being a supportive teammate when his fellow players needed some positivity. Rylan's full-range performance for the season made him the definitive pick for MVP this year.

2021 Team: 11U AAA

Head Coach: Sandy Bailey

Top Pitcher - Isaac Van Kessel

This season, Isaac was an absolute ace, putting up zeroes in almost every appearance, including a six-inning shutout gem against Quinte at Durham College and a masterful game under the lights at Alexandra in the EOBA semi-final game against Ajax. Isaac got stronger as the season progressed, throwing a high percentage of strikes and inducing weak contact. With a big arm and a great mentality, "Kess" is only getting started, and we'll count on him for big innings in 2022 as we move to the bigger field.

MVP/Batting Champion/Gold Gove Award - Evan Service

Evan was a high-impact player all season long. A versatile defender, Evan was an anchor at shortstop, showcasing silky smooth hands and a strong, accurate arm. His ability to drive balls using the whole field made him an offensive threat, and his high baseball IQ made him a weapon on the bases. He made big strides on the mound, pounding the strike zone and pitching to contact. Beyond his impressive skill set, he was a team leader, energizing everyone with a positive attitude, picking up teammates, and acting as our constant vocal beacon on the field. To steal an old baseball expression, Evan was our straw that stirred the drink.

2021 Team: 11U A

Head Coach: Howie MacGregor

Gold Glove Award - Thomas Habec & Brendan Basi

This year was a tough decision for us coaches as two players stood out in the field.

Thomas was our most improved player this season, and his glove at 2nd, 3rd, and pitcher was very strong. Thomas made some great ground ball picks from 2nd, but mainly his ability to catch a hot shot back to him as a pitcher and handle it calmly to get the out at 1st was amazing this season. Thomas led the way with 24 assists this season, and it's great to see him on such a good focus level. Great work this season!!

Brendan was our most focused player on the field. He was outstanding at following the game and encouraging others at every point in the 7 innings played. Brendan was one of our leading second baseman who came through for us game in and game out. Brendan was top 2 in assists this season from position 4 and was hard to get out.

Batting Champion - Owen Torres

Owen is a very strong presence at the plate. The power that he generates equals some unbelievably hard line drives that no one wants to be in the way of. Owen led the team with an OPS of .1563 and SLG .947. He also led the team with 17 hits, 8 Triples and 16 RBIs. Owen finished the season with an avg. 447. We look forward to some balls clearing the fence in the seasons to come. Keep swinging hard!!!

Top Pitcher - Carter Trinidad

This was Carter's first season in the Rep program, and he did an amazing job all summer long. Carter was one of our quieter players verbally but the loudest on the mound statistically. From the first pitching instruction of the season, Carter got better with every throw. Carter led the team in almost all categories on the mound. Carter led the team in Innings pitched 23.1, K's 28, the lowest era, stranded the most runner with 24 and had the lowest opponent batting avg. Carter is a great listener and one of the best kids to coach. In his first full year pitching a the rep level, Carter proved to be an effective pitcher. Leading the team with 11 appearances, Carter's hard work through the season saw his pitching improve significantly. Carter led the team in strikeouts this season and had the lowest WHIP for anyone who pitched more than 2 innings this season.

Carter was always calm and focused on the mound, which allowed him to have regularly strong outings. His positive attitude and being open to coaching allowed him to improve continuously. We look forward to Carter's continuous development as he moves up to U12 baseball and beyond.

MVP - Zoe McGregor

Zoe performed incredibly well through the season and continues to improve her game every time she steps on the field. She was one of the team's leaders for the season. Her play was always at a high level, as was her attitude and energy level, and she is incredibly coachable. At the plate, she was one of the most consistent hitters on the team, hitting .366 and having the second-most multiple-base hits for the season. In the field, she was incredibly reliable and our best player at first base with a knack for extending and stretching to make more outs than we would have had otherwise. Zoe led the team with 84 put-outs during the season. While the season started slowly for Zoe on the mound, her dedication to the game and effort both on and off the field saw her make great strides in this area. Her ability to learn and execute the game is a great asset on any team. Great work out there.

2021 Team: 12U AAA

Head Coach: Jason Bourque

Gold Glove Award – Liam Ingram

Once again, Liam was a leader on the defensive side. His great glove and a strong arm are only topped by his knowledge of the game. Whether it was him making a diving play or positioning and explaining the situation to a teammate, Liam could always be counted on to be ready and willing to get after it on the defensive side of the game.

Batting Champion - Roman Nyarko

Roman came into the season with a challenge in front of him — turn his high-level athleticism into on-field baseball success. He met the challenge and more. He was a team leader in both batting AVG at .425 and Slugging Percentage .525, and he was also near the top of several other offensive categories. Roman always had the opposing pitchers on edge and delivered some massive hits for the team.

Top Pitcher - Jaylen Victor

Jaylen was a magician on the mound for us this year. With his ability to change speeds, be in the strike zone consistently and hold runners on, he kept the opposition off balance and guessing wrong most of the season. Jaylen's biggest asset was his calm; no matter the situation, he would take the ball toe the rubber and do his thing, usually with less pitches thrown than pick-off attempts.

MVP - Larson Nichols

Larson continues to grow as a player and a leader for this team. Whether he is making plays at SS or blocking countless pitches behind the plate, he leads by example with his effort on the defensive side. He was also one of the leaders of the pitching staff, always looking to get after the tough situations. He is a hard-hitting lefty at the plate who once again found himself near the top of the list for most stat categories. Larson's biggest contribution comes as a team leader; Larson is always looking for opportunities to lead by example with effort and desire.

2021 Team: 12U A

Head Coach: Andrew Passarelli

Gold Glove Award - Ben Harnum

Ben is a 2-time winner of this award. This year, Ben was used at every position, predominantly at the catchers' position, logging 29 innings behind the plate. With his strong arm, he was a valuable asset behind the plate as well as the left side of the infield. The team leader in fielding pct., our 12UA gold glove winner, is Ben Harnum.

Batting Champion - Aaron Beebe

Tied for the team lead with a .429 avg, led the team in OBP, OPS, slugging and hits. The coaching staff was amazed to see where he started at his first-ever tryout and what he accomplished this year. His ability to apply what he learned throughout winter training and the summer is the reason Aaron Beebe is our 12UA Batting champ.

Top Pitcher - Tristan Craig

He led the team in starts, innings pitched, and strikeouts; Tristan was heavily relied on to pitch against our toughest opponents and consistently came through for his team. In one of our final August Madness games, Tristan pitched a solid 3 innings giving up 2 earned runs while striking out 5, helping us beat a good Whitby team. Our 12UA Top Pitcher is Tristan Craig.

MVP - Keith Couperthwaite

Keith played predominantly as a pitcher and outfielder with some innings at 3rd. Near or at the top in most pitching and hitting categories. Almost always pitching against our tougher opponents, Keith was as consistent as one could be, and his teammates relied on him on many nights providing the team with clutch pitching and hitting. Our 2021 12UA MVP is Keith Couperthwaite.

2021 Team: 13U A

Head Coach: Travis Belrose

Gold Glove - Treston Nemisz

It is a baseball truism that teams need to be strong up the middle, and Treston contributed to that strength. After fierce competition in July, he locked down the starting role at second base. He demonstrated great anticipation, sure hands, and went back for pop-ups like no one else on the team. In fact, he only made one error in the entire month of August, and it proved not to be a costly one as we went on to win the game. Thanks to his calm demeanour, advanced technique, and accurate throws, he is a fitting recipient of our team's Gold Glove Award.

Batting Champion - Kane Johnston

Kane went on a tear in August, leading the team to a third-place finish in Ontario. During August Madness, he slashed an unworldly .500/.538/.833, including 8 doubles and 1 triple in only 12 games. He was a consistent threat in the heart of the order, regardless of the pitcher taking the mound against us. Combining power with great bat to ball skills, Kane is the definition of a silver slugger.

Top Pitcher - Avery Smith

Avery was our Opening Day pitcher, and he maintained his role as staff ace for the remainder of the season. During August Madness, he was our "Friday Night Pitcher," taking the mound in the first game of every weekend series, pitching deep into every game. He kept hitters off balance by mixing a fastball with a slurve that he threw with 10 mph separation. He also won two crucial games on short rest when we were facing elimination in the first round of August Madness. Congratulations, Avery, on a well-deserved award.

MVP - Austin Dawson-North

Austin was our best all-around player from beginning to end of the season. He was such a steady presence at shortstop, and his nickname could well be "6-3." In every big game, he was our lead-off hitter. During August Madness, he hit .320 with an impressive .945 OPS and 20 stolen bases. Austin was also a capable pitcher, stepping up to provide innings as a starter or reliever whenever we needed him. Congratulations, Austin, and thank you for your contributions to the team.

2021 Team: 13U AAA

Head Coach: Scott Lee

Gold Glove - Ryan Lee

Ryan was simply known as Vladdy at first base for us. Never afraid to knock a ball down, Ryan was very consistent for us at first base. Scoop after scoop was made at first, making valuable outs all year for the team. He is a big target with very soft hands. The 13U AAA gold glove award goes to Ryan Lee.

Batting Champion - Kieran Chan Langille

Kieran finished the season on a high note. He turned his year around as soon as the August madness began. Kierran hit .372 for the year and was our lead-off batter by the end of the season. Kieran listened to his coaches and made the changes necessary to enjoy success at the plate. The batting champ for 13u AAA is Kieran Chan Langille.

Top Pitcher - Ryan Gillan

Surprise of the year! Young Ryan was dominant for us on the mound. Ryan posted an era of 2.17 in 8 games. Ryan regularly was used as our guy to come in and either close things out or stop the bleeding. Excellent mechanics and footwork have led to his success. Ryan faced 48 batters, giving up only 10 hits and walking only 6. He was a sure thing when it came to throwing strikes. The 13UAAA pitcher of the year is Ryan Gillan.

MVP - Ty Harnum

Ty played SS, catcher, pitcher, and outfield this year. Ty is an extremely flexible player who could be placed anywhere in our lineup. Ty batted in the 2 hole for us and was very consistent. Ty was able to belt out 8 homers and had 27 RBIs in just 23 games. Ty hit one ball in Halton Hills over a 300 ft fence. Pretty impressive for a 13-year-old. The MVP of the 13U AAA team is Ty Harnum.

2021 Team: 14U AAA

Head Coach: Ryan Williamson

Gold glove - Caden Williamson

Caden is a back-to-back gold glove award winner as a shortstop. Caden became one of the elite shortstops in his league, demonstrating great range and arm strength. Working with coach Jared Stevens, Caden improved his footwork and positioning while becoming a more vocal leader on the team. Congrats, Caden, on another great year.

Top Pitcher - Landen Stevens

Landen used his smooth delivery and calm demeanour to lead the Bantam Legionnaires in victories, strikeouts, pitched, and third in ERA. Landen seemed to get stronger the bigger the game. In the August madness tournament, he showed how dominating he could be pitching 11 innings striking out 20 batters with a 2-0 record. Congrats, Landen, on a great year.

MVP and Batting Champion - Owen Weales

Owen led our team in every offensive category while demonstrating incredible leadership and defence. Owen always came through for the team with a big hit or spectacular play in center field. Owen's passion for baseball and willingness to improve inspired everyone on the team to work harder. He led the EOBA in batting average with an astonishing .446 avg. Congratulations, Owen, on a great season.

2021 Team: 18U

Head Coach: Greg Deman

Gold Glove Award - Quinn Corbett

Quinn played first base and very rarely did a ball get past him. His excellent abilities at receiving the ball gave his teammates confidence that if they had to rush a throw to first base, he was going to catch it and get the out, or at the very least, prevent the ball from getting past him and the opposing player getting an extra base. His baseball knowledge was always helpful to his teammates as he would call out defensive plays depending on the situation.

Batting Champion - Tommy Walcer (Batting Average .344)

Tommy was our lead-off hitter and did a great job getting on base and setting the tone for our games. Other teams recognized him when we got back to the top of the order and always viewed him as a hitting threat. His success at the plate stemmed from his work ethic and always wanting to continue practicing. He always requested to hit more balls during BP and would ask teammates to stay after practice and pitch so he could continue to work on his hitting.

Top Pitcher - Ryan Magrath

Ryan was our Ace pitcher all season long. Ryan's excellent pitching skills allowed him to throw a complete 6 inning game with 10 strikeouts and allowing only one hit. Ryan led the team with innings pitched, ERA and strikeouts. He pitched 28 innings, ERA 1.92 and had 42 strikeouts.

MVP - Matt Booker

Matt was consistently one of our top players both offensively and defensively all season. He finished second on the team in batting average and led the team in home runs. He is sound defensively, dominating the middle infield positions and was willing to play any position asked of him. During our hectic August Madness schedule, he stepped into pitch, going 5 innings, allowing 2 hits and getting 3 strikeouts. Matt's value was also shown to his teammates and coaches as he grew into a leadership role on the team. He used his baseball knowledge and experience to mentor the newer, younger players and was always constructive, providing feedback to help his teammates. In game, his knowledge was used, leading his teammates in calling out different situational plays.

2021 Team: 15U Elite

Head Coach: Shawn Earle

Golden Glove Award - Dante Smith

This year's top defensive player for the 15u elite team showcased himself on the field game in and game out. From tracking down deep fly balls in the gap to putting his body on the line diving for baseballs that most would pull up on, he truly gave his team all he had with his glove. Not to mention his ability to make great defensive plays in the league Championship when everything was on the line. Playing in centre field most of the season and only making 1 single error shows this player is very deserving of the 15u 2021 top defensive player award. This year's winner is #32, Dante Smith.

Top pitcher- Allon Seepersaud

The starting pitching staff for the 15u elite Legionaires was one of the strongest starting staffs throughout the whole 15u season in the PBLO. The coaching staff was very pleased with every starter that toed the rubber this year.

This year's top pitcher for the 15u team threw 36 innings and recorded 6-0. Facing 149 batters, he only gave up a total of 23 hits and 9 earned runs while striking out 29 and finishing with an ERA of 1.73 on the season. In the PBLO championship game, he was counted on to come in in relief in the top of the 4th inning and pitched a gem for the remainder of the game, only allowing 2 hits over that time with 0 earned runs and 4 strike outs leading the Legionaires to the league championship. This year's top pitcher award goes to #55 Allon Seepersaud.

MVP & Batting Champion– Preston Viera

From the fall of 2020 until the end of the postseason in 2021, this player continues to put in the work unlike no other. It's really no surprise that every year he continues to be at or near the top in every offensive category for the 2006 Born Legionaires. Through 34 games, he finished with a .325 batting average in 109 plate appearances managing 25 total hits with 17 singles, 5 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run and 16 RBI's.

This year the 15u elite team set their sites on the PBLO championship from the get-go. From day 1 of the 2020/21 campaign, this player took on a major leadership role with the 15u Legionaires and its pitching staff. Leading by example day in and day out, whether, through home workouts, team zoom calls, practices and games, this player was always putting himself front and center as one of the leaders on the 15u squad. Each and every year, he takes on the challenge of being a true leader, and the team simply feeds on his ability to push others to new levels of play. Whether it be his amazing play behind the plate or simply growing the team's baseball IQ while on the bench, he deserves every bit of recognition that comes his way. Following every set of games played this season, every opposing coach would make their way over to the 15u coaching staff to point out Preston's ability to not only catch and block baseballs behind the dish but his ability to carry himself as a leader way beyond his years when communicating to team members, opposing players, coaches and umpires. When you hear things like that as a staff, there's no better feeling knowing you have the right leaders in place. With all that said, this year's Batting Champion and MVP awards go to the catcher #3, Preston Vieira.

2021 Team: 17U Elite

Head Coach: Aaron Marshall

Gold Glove Award – Luke Torrance & Nate Marshall

We pride ourselves on our Defensive play as a team, which makes this award more special as all players strive to achieve excellence. This year we acknowledge two players who have stood out amongst the team as leaders defensively as our starting Centre Fielder Luke prided himself on being a top tier player in this position in the PBLO. Luke had a great first step which allowed him to make plays. Also, with his love of the position, he excelled in his defensive strategies, bolstering him a perfect fielding percentage and adding 4 assists from the outfield.

Nate has been steady as a rock playing 1st base for us this year. He had a solid 967 fielding percentage with only 3 errors with over 80 chances throughout the season. Nate is a vocal leader in the infield directing setup and instills confidence in his players and coaches with this skill. Nate takes pride in his position, sacrificing his body with some astonishing plays this year.

Top Pitcher – Braeden Lewis

Braeden has been a go-to pitcher throughout the season. He has led the team in innings due to his ability to manage his pitch counts and has a get ahead, stay ahead mentality on the mound. Braeden used time over much of the lockdown during the off-season to further develop pitches and command. His ERA was 2nd among our pitching staff and was called upon in key situations throughout the year.

MVP & Batting Champion - Mike Quick

Mike had a breakout season this year with the team. He has always been a reliable contact hitter, however with his dedication to his own growth throughout this pandemic, Mike has become a fierce batter to deal with for every opponent. Mike is well aware of his role as our lead-off hitter and will see many pitches at-bat and, with his added power, added 2 home runs this year. Mike led the team with a 489 AVG and led the team in Hits, Singles, Doubles and RBIs.

Mike has also been awarded our MVP for the 2020/2021 Baseball season. Along with his growth at the plate, Mike has been a standout behind the plate. He caught well over half of our 166 innings played this year and thrown out 8 runners.

Whether game or practice, Mike is always giving 100%. He is looked upon as a leader amongst the team with his hard work and dedication. Still, as a humble individual, he is always more concerned about the team's outcome rather than his individual successes.

2021 Team: 18U Elite

Head Coach: Jason Deslauriers

Gold Glove - Brodie Baker

A true example of hard work and dedication to adapting and overcoming, Brodie Baker is this year's Gold Glove Winner. Brodie's desire to be better started in the off-season training with a strong arm care program. He then took that new mindset and worked on his ball tracking, fielding, and approach to defence, which in turn saw his previous years .865 fielding percentage become an error-free, 29 Put out 1.0000!!! What makes this even more amazing is that Brodie played all 3 outfield positions this past year on a regular basis. He became our most reliable defender out there and an asset that helped lead the way to a very successful season.

 Batting Champ - Cody Hefford

Cody's baseball IQ and desire to compete saw him take on the challenge of becoming the team's lead-off hitter this year. The off-season work he put into his swing and approach at the plate will lead to him producing this kind of stat year.

In 21 regular-season games, .339 avg (#1 on the team, .481 OBP (#1 on the team), 15 BB (#2 on the team), scored 18 times (#1 on the team), and .385 with runners in scoring position (#1 on the team). Fun fact for Cody, this past season, he didn't hit into a single double play or fielders choice!!

Pitcher - Peter Houston

First to the field, last to leave. That's Peter Houston, and it has paid off huge. If you are an aspiring pitcher, listen to these numbers. In 7 of 22 regular-season games, Peter took the bump. He faced 142 batters, only using 460 pitches! 54% of those batters saw less than 3 pitches, and 78% of his innings were Walk Free!! The accuracy and control are next level. In the Opening Playoff tournament game, he faced the heavily favoured London Badgers. Peter threw a 4 hit complete game using only 86 pitches, of which 60 were called strikes leading Oshawa to a 5-0 win. Peter did all this while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and securing a combined academic and baseball scholarship to Cleary University in Michigan.

MVP - Tristan DesLauriers

Tristan's dedication to his game and many, many hours of personal lessons resulted in a great year. Tristan was 2nd in average with .338, 2nd in OBP with a .438, 2nd in SLG with .426. He led the team with 23 hits and 18 RBIs. He was never caught looking on strike 3 and even managed to somehow steal 3 bases for us! All while catching 114 innings, throwing out 24% of base runners, and only giving up 16 passed balls. He managed the pitchers very well and took pride in knowing each one's strengths and weaknesses. This MVP also took the time to provide free catching and hitting clinics for younger players, attend Zoom meetings with younger teams and create a slideshow to present to up and coming elite players in Oshawa. Tristan's successful 18u year saw him accept a baseball scholarship to Salem University in West Virginia.
