Jumpstart conducted a State of Sport study via Ipsos, which revealed the pandemic has not only impacted current access to sport and play but has real long-term effects as well.
Baseball Oshawa and the communities it serves have experienced the impact of the pandemic first-hand.
We recently received confirmation that we are amongst nearly 300 sport and recreation organizations nationally to be provided with grant support through Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund. We are beyond grateful to receive this news and know the positive impact it will have on sport and recreation organizations, and ultimately, on kids across the country.
With Jumpstart’s support, we’ll be able to conduct essential maintenance on our pitching machines and replace any machines that have been previously damaged.
In addition, we’ll be able to replenish the supplies that form our pandemic response kits for EVERY TEAM in the association. Most importantly, Baseball Oshawa will be able to show the rest of the baseball programs in the province the benefits of Jumpstart’s help with the various tournaments we have planned this summer.
Thanks to a grant from Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund, Baseball Oshawa is one of nearly 700 sport and recreation organizations across the country to receive such support.
“We offered a program last year, but with the financial pressures of COVID-19, we weren’t sure how we would be able to provide the type of experience our players and parents have come to expect from Baseball Oshawa,” said Ken Babcock, Baseball Oshawa President.
This grant “will allow us to continue providing excellent high-quality baseball programs and opportunities the community expects from Baseball Oshawa,” added Babcock.
The association plans to offer another summer of baseball and encourage families to register children for the upcoming season. Click the link to register today — https://www.baseballoshawa.com/house-registration
