Under sunny skies the 18U Legionaires held a moving tribute to the Traynor Family and the 12U Legionaires.

What a special day September 26 was at Kinsmen Stadium.

The Oshawa 18U Elite hosted the Sudbury Voyageurs for the weekend and prior to the first game held an emotional ceremony to honour the Traynor Family as well as the 12U team which Coach Chris and Joey were a part of this past season.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 Colour Guard performed a moving rendition of O Canada and Amazing Grace. The honoured guests led the 12U players onto the field where the players were presented with special jerseys to honour the Traynors.

Following the moving rendition of Amazing Grace by the piper, there was a 50 second moment of silence for Joey, Chris, Adelaide and Bradley.

The words “Traynor Strong” were written along the baselines, as well as CT, BT, AT, and JT surrounding home plate.

Oshawa came out with 11-5 and 9-3 victories on the day.

Thank you to everyone involved.
