OSHAWA SHINES AT MLB PITCH HIT AND RUN SECTIONALS IN MISSISSAUGA
With a trip to the Rogers Centre and the Finals at stake, six Oshawa Minor baseball players that qualified at the Baseball Oshawa hosted MLB PHR Local Area Competition last week, represented Oshawa extremely well at the MLB PHR Sectional Championships held today across Ontario. The trip to Mississauga today saw Oshawa players bring home 5 overall medals in the Sectionals competition. Just awesome!! Oshawa blue and gold was everywhere today!!  Gabby Marshall finsihed third overall and captured Bronze Medal honours in the Girls 11/12 Division. Meanwhile Nolan Hartley won the Bronze Medal finishing 3rd overall in the Boys 7/8 Division and Luke Torrence brought home overall Bronze in the Boys 9/10 Division.  Two more medals went Oshawa's way as Braden Babcock won the overall Boys 11-12 Division Gold medal and Addam Wilson took Bronze in the Boys 11/12 Division, finishing 1-3 in that age division overall.  Brodie Baker also competed well and just missed an overall medal in the Boys 9/10 Division.   What a great showing for Oshawa today at the Major League Baseball PITCH HIT & RUN 2013 SECTIONALS. Woo Hoo!!! Overall Gold Medalists will now wait to see if their overall score rated top 3 in the province amongst all Sectionals for a chance to qaulify for the MLB PHR Bluejays Finals at the Rogers Centre. As you'll recall Oshawa's Connor May won the finals in his age category 3 summers ago at the Rogers Centre. Hopefully there is more good news for Oshawa with another of its players advancing to the Finals.   Special thanks to the organizers and volunteers from Mississauga North Tigers Baseball Association for hosting today's Sectional Event for Boys and Girls!  A great day!

BASEBALL PLEASED TO ADD "BIG BUBBA" TO KINSMEN CIVIC MEMORIAL STADIUM
Pleased to note that Kinsmen Civic Memorial Stadium is now the proud new home to a BIG BUBBA Top of the line Major League batting turtle.   It is being paid for by Baseball Oshawa, Durham College and LOSSA on a three way spilt.   It is the former batting turtle from a defunct minor league team in Illinois. Used only one season and was stored cleanly indoors over the winter.  It is in terrific shape.  Looks new.  Pleased to say that it was delivered to the Stadium yesterday afternoon and we unloaded and stored it. Thanks to Durham College head coach Sam Dempster for finding this great deal. This is very exciting and will be a great addition to the Stadium for home and visiting teams to use. Not to mention the extraordinary savings on BP balls for this upcoming season.
